Lily Rabe and Mercedes Ruehl are joined by Benjamin Eakeley (Sweeney Todd), Austin Lysy (A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Delacorte), and Brenda Pressley (The First Breeze of Summer). The limited engagement of THE AMERICAN PLAN will begin previews tonight, Friday, January 2, 2009 and open on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at MTC's Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

(Dec. 29 11:56) - Miramax's Doubt, which stars Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Viola Davis successfully expanded from 39 theaters to 1,267 reports Variety. Doubt came in No. 10 for the three-day weekend, grossing $5.7 million for a per-screen average of $4,479 and a current total of $8.8 million in its third weekend.
